Lou Dobbs apologized for sharing the personal information on Thursday of a woman who alleged Donald Trump sexually assaulted her.
The Fox Business Network anchor shared a tweet Thursday morning that revealed the address and phone number of Trump’s accuser Jessica Leeds, claiming she has ties to the Clinton Foundation, according to Politico.
Dobbs later tweeted “My Retweet,My Mistake,My Apology to Jessica Leeds” with a link to Politico’s story on his alleged tweet (it appears to have been removed from his Twitter feed since this morning).
Jessica Leeds, 74, of Manhattan, was one of two women who told The New York Times Trump assaulted them. Leeds said Trump grabbed her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt without her consent during a flight more than 30 years ago.
“He was like an octopus,” said Leeds, who was 38 at the time of the alleged incident. “His hands were everywhere.”
Trump denied the allegations.
The practice of releasing someone else’s private information is known as doxxing. It’s happened to Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and Beyonce, among others.
On the campaign trail, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump launches a defiant attack on US media, calling published accusations by several women that he sexually assaulted them “pure fiction.
